Transportation, Accommodations, Golfing, Shopping, Kids Stuff
The Greater Vancouver Area has a complete range of accommodations to suit most budgets. If your trip plan has not yet included a place to stay, here are a few recommendations starting with the one closest to the most frequent trip pick up and drop off location which is Lonsdale Quay Hotel in North Vancouver. And if not everyone wants to go fishing then shopping and golfing and activities for the kids are only minutes away.
Transportation
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is a modern international and domestic terminal serviced by most major airlines. Taxi service to downtown Vancouver (20 minute ride) or to North Vancouver (30 minute ride) is quick and easy and ranges from $50 to $80.
The least expensive way to get from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Downtown Vancouver Hotels or the North Vancouver Hotels such as the Lonsdale Quay Hotel or Pinnacle Hotel is to take the "Canada Line - Sky Train - Seabus". You will have to pack your own luggage, but if you want to do this, then after arrival at Vancouver International airport, ask to be directed to the "Canada Line Sky Train"
1) Skytrain To Downtown Vancouver - Buy an $8 - 2 Zone ticket at the airport skytrain kiosk to get to downtown Vancouver. It's about a 20 minute ride from YVR Airport and get off at the Burrard Street or Waterfront Stations. Most hotels are within 5 blocks walking distance of these two terminals. Check with your hotel as to which is best.
1) Skytrain-Seabus To North Vancouver - buy an $11 - 3 zone ticket to get to North Vancouver at the kiosk and take the sky train to the end of line at "Waterfront Station" (takes about a 25 minute ride from YVR Airport)
2) At Waterfront Station walk up the escalator through the terminal and your ticket will transfer directly to the "Sea Bus" and take the Seabus to North Vancouver (about another 15 minute ride but usually a great view of the north shore mountains!)
3) Lonsdale Quay Hotel is at the Seabus terminal, so turn right upon exiting the Seabus and you are there!
4) Pinnacle Hotel is one block east of the Seabus terminal, so turn right upon exiting the Seabus terminal and walk 1 block east to Lonsdale Avenue and you are there!
Hint: If you think you will take the Seabus or Sky train multiple times or a group of you is riding them, then some Kiosks will sell a re-loadable card $31.50 and save you $10 off the regular price.
