Also found a paddle under a branch on the upper level of the bank.....A sign that the Squamish can change it's temper very fast and be unforgiving......so when the river color changed because of the rain, I decided to cross back over and not push my luck......You can be lucky lots of times......it only needs one time to be unlucky.
Was a great day to head out onto the Squamish. The forecast was for rain and it was likely that most people would stay away and that was the case. Heading up the valley was great. Even had time to stop for a coffee and just let the rain fade a bit before heading to the gravel. A new sign was put up....perhaps you saw the video of the grizzly chasing the kayaker??? It was cool and lucky the guy could paddle fast! The rain had dampened and cooled the forest and re-charged the water falls so the scenery was great! Little did I know that the water would eventually change but before it did I was able to check out some old spots to see what if anything was stirring. Though the water looked good fishing was sketchy. Did find some pretty big spawned out carcasses from some spring salmon, so that was encouraging......maybe a few more years will develop a good run of springs. Been working on my latest video - "Squamish Bull Trout - Directors Cut" for a few months and finally finished it. Hope you like it........Cheers and tight lines!
