| As winter weather arrives so also do some colorful feathered guests. Heading out on a photography tour of Howe Sound just north of Vancouver we were able to snap some great shots. The subtle greys and blues and occasional sprinkles of rain provide a calm background for some beautiful Harlequin Ducks. They seemed skittish at first but then followed our pace to allow some very cool pics. |
Get together with two or three friends, grab your cameras, and call Fraser Legends Fishing for a cruise up Howe Sound, the Pitt River or the Harrison for Eagle Fest.

![]() John and Elly decided it was a great weekend in November to spruce up their sturgeon fishing skills. Shortly after we dropped anchor Elly landed the first fish to get the day off to a good start. It didn't take long after that and the first double header was in the boat. ![]() After that, John thought it would be a good idea to land a nice fish to show Elly how it was done. ![]() Apparently John is a great teacher as the rod went down and shortly after Elly set the hook this 166 cm beauty exploded out of the water. It was a classic sturgeon battle with acrobatics and deep down rod bending dives, however...... ![]() Elly's arm and back muscles and endurance was put to the test as the 7th fish of the morning peeled off the line on her rod with no intention of turning around. Just like the Ever Ready Bunny, this fish just kept going and going as the reel ratchet screamed. John helped hold onto Elly until his rod went down and he had his own fish to deal with. Check out the videos on "Elly hooks a Big One!" and "Elly and John hook a double Header" ![]() And how did this fish story end? Well the second double of the day resulted in John landing a 141 cm and Elly eventually landing her 179 cm fish! This made for a great shore break and some fine family photos. It was a great day on the water and with 9 fish they were just one short of a double digit day. Landing almost 11 meters of sturgeon ain't a bad way to spend a day! You too could be out here. Give Fraser Legends Fishing a call. Fishing will be great well into December. |
